Lizz Dyer is an emerging artist from Omaha, Nebraska. Working as a Data Engineer by day, her artistic practice offers a striking counterbalance to her technical career. In addition to her moonlit escapades, she loves to paint, quilt, and make linocut block prints. Spending time in nature is her favorite way to recharge; in her down time you may find her wandering wooded trails, collecting unique rocks, speaking with animals, and stargazing.
Lizz has always had a deep connection with the moon and aims to evoke an ethereal presence with her art. The intentional use of low light and inclusion of movement require her to relinquish control of what is captured in the moment, creating images and experiences that blur the line between documentation and dreamscape.
"I take self-portraits under the full moon as ritual - each image a practice in surrender and play. I move with the wind, letting it shape me, blur me, and carry parts of me away, while moonlight illuminates what remains. I have learned to let go and invite the unexpected.
This practice reminds me that I am not separate from nature - I am part of it. And in that knowing, I am able to witness myself as nature does: without judgement, in ever-changing light."
